Tile roofs in a cold climate can work pretty well, especially if they are build with durable concrete tiles. The concrete composition is highly weather-resistant. There are also options available that help reduce the occurrence of ice dams. When installed in the correctly, tile roofs have higher one-time installation cost. The saving factor is they do not require regular maintenance like other types of roofing materials.
