Which is Better Roofing Nail Gun or Hand Nailing?

There are pros and cons to the methods used to apply roofing nails to a roof. Do you recommend using a nail gun or is it better to hammer them in by hand?

I'm not sure, I have never roofed. But, I am going to have to give it a whirl because if I don't my garage is going to cave in, so any pointers you want to give me will be more than welcome!

Sandy: If you have never roofed before you are taking a huge risk which can most definitely make the situation much worse. Please upload a photo of your home to https://www.roofer911.com/problem-roofing-photo.htm and I will see if I can give you some valuable pointers which may help.

George: I understand, having a roofing nail gun will make the job much faster to complete but you must pay very strict attention with fastening procedures so that each and every roofing nail is laying flush to the top of the shingle and not crooked, lifting up or over-driven.
