If your utility bills are higher than what you think they should be, or what neighbors are paying, perhaps you need to get some replacement andersen windows to stop the money from running through your hands. Few people realize the importance of details and how every little bit adds up. In the winter, if it is cold by your windows, it is possible that you have some leaks. Even a leak that is so tiny that you can't see it can drastically reduce your room temperature and increase your utility bills.

One way to test for unseen leaks is to light a match near the window (be careful of the drapes!) and see if the flame wavers in the draft. You may need to caulk your windows, or even replace them. When you have roofers at your home checking for any leaks or damage to your shingles, they may find that instead of needing a roof replacement, they may suggest that you replace your windows. Keep in mind this is something they work with all day long, and they are seeing your windows with fresh eyes. Perhaps you no longer notice that some windows are full of condensation and are starting to grow mold between the panes of glass. After all, isn’t that what drapes are for, to cover up what you don’t wish to see? Contractors may suggest replacing with Anderson windows, one of the premier names in the industry who have been in business for over 100 years.

Heat loss can be caused by improper insulation dept in your attic, siding that was installed without strapping or your doors and windows needs replacing.

If your windows get smoggy during winter months only, it is highly recommended to inspect your roof for lack of ventilation.

This blog offers a lot of help that most people didn't know about. As you said, drapes hide a lot to the eye that most wont see or even understand why its so cold. Great job!
